CHALK v1.2.2
Draw a sequence. Mac & PC.
DEMO: https://youtu.be/Z7ggjU4X5XI
The download contains both platforms. Open the folder for your system and ignore the other one. A READ ME FIRST is included with these same steps.
INSTALLING — MAC
1. Unzip, open the Mac folder, double-click Chalk-1.2.2.pkg
2. Follow the installer
3. Restart your DAW
Signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens with no security warning. If macOS does complain, the download is incomplete — download it again rather than overriding the warning.
INSTALLING — WINDOWS
1. Unzip, open the Windows folder
2. Copy the whole Chalk.vst3 FOLDER into:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
The folder itself, not what's inside it. Windows will ask for administrator
permission — that's normal for that location.
3. Restart your DAW and rescan your plugins
There's no installer on purpose, so there's no .exe for Windows to warn you about. Nothing to click through.
UNLOCKING
Chalk starts in demo mode: it plays, with a noise burst and a beep every few seconds and DEMO across the board. Everything else works.
Click UNLOCK (top right), enter the email you bought with and the serial from your receipt. It needs internet once; after that it works offline forever.
Your license covers 5 computers, Mac and Windows together. Run out? Open Chalk on one you no longer use, click the license line at the bottom right, and choose DEACTIVATE — that frees a slot immediately. Reinstalling doesn't use one.
REQUIREMENTS
• macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later (Intel)
• macOS 11 Big Sur or later (Apple Silicon)
• Windows 10 or later, 64-bit
• Universal binary — Apple Silicon and Intel native
FORMATS
• Mac — VST3, AU, and a standalone app
• Windows — VST3
• Logic and GarageBand use the AU; Logic doesn't load VST3
• No Pro Tools / AAX version
GETTING STARTED
Draw a line on the board and press play. That's the whole idea.
Colors carry behavior — ratchet, glide and more. Draw over something to take priority. Pick a scale and everything lands in key. Right-click RANDOM to pin the board so the dice only rolls the knobs. Cmd/Ctrl+Z undoes anything, including knob moves.
